Scotland is in national lockdown and therefore all non-essential businesses are closed and we are being asked to stay at home. Our priority right now is to ensure that we look after our local community and the landscape around us. Please follow our guidelines to respect, protect and enjoy Durness and the surroundings. It looks like travel may be possible again in May or June so now is a good time to plan your next visit to Durness. Food & Fuel Durness Spar, Richard Mackay & Sons (Facebook) at the road junction to the south also sells petrol and diesel with a 24-hour self-service pump. Spar is open 9:00-17:00 Monday to Saturday. Closed for renovation Sunday, 25th April to Sunday, 2nd May 2021 – opening again on Monday 3rd May 2021. ----------------------- Mather's Wee Shop open Monday to Saturday 10.30am - 5.30pm & 8.30-10pm and Sundays 12-5pm.
Eating & Drinking Most places are closed, following government guidelines, but to plan and see what's available check here for the latest details. Local transport The Durness Bus normally operates daily services between Durness and Lairg, a Saturday service to Inverness and Thurso and a Dial-a-Bus service for local people and walkers. Most services have been withdrawn or available only for essential workers for the duration of the COVID-19 shutdown. See their web site for up-to-date information. The Durness Bus generously sponsors these web pages. Cape Wrath Ferry The ferry will take you across the Kyle of Durness to the mini-bus service to Cape Wrath.
