Accommodation Most self-catering accommodation has re-opened but many B&Bs and the Youth Hostel remain closed and with limited spaces it is essential to book ahead. The camp site is open only for mobile homes with fully self-contained sewage systems. See here for up-to-date listings.

Food & Fuel Durness Spar, Richard Mackay & Sons at the road junction to the south also sells petrol and diesel with a 24-hour self-service pump. Spar is currently open 8:00-18:00 Monday to Friday and 9:00 - 18:00 on Saturday.
Mather's Wee Shop is open Monday - Saturday 11:00 - 16:00 and 8:30 - 22:00, Sundays 12:00-17:00 only

Local transport The Durness Bus The Durness Bus normally operates daily services between Durness and Lairg, a Saturday service to Inverness and Thurso and a Dial-a-Bus service for local people and walkers. Most services have been withdrawn or available only for essential workers for the duration of the COVID-19 shutdown. See their web site for up-to-date information. The Durness Bus generously sponsors these web pages. Cape Wrath Ferry The ferry will take you across the Kyle of Durness to the mini-bus service to Cape Wrath.
